Core Academic Courses
Foundational Reading and Literacy
Students develop essential literacy skills through individualized reading instruction, phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary development, reading fluency, and comprehension activities. Instruction is tailored to each student’s current reading level and may include interactive read-aloud, guided reading, visual supports, and hands-on literacy activities. Students build the skills needed to read with increasing accuracy, confidence, and understanding.
Mathematics Foundations and Development
This course builds mathematical understanding through individualized instruction, visual models, manipulatives, games, and real-world problem-solving activities. Students explore number sense, counting, number operations, place value, measurement, geometry, fractions, and other grade-appropriate mathematical concepts. Instruction progresses according to each student’s readiness while supporting accuracy, reasoning, and confidence in mathematics.
Academic Intervention Courses
Reading Intervention and Literacy Support
This targeted course supports students who need additional instruction to strengthen reading skills. Lessons focus on identifying individual learning needs and providing focused practice in phonics, decoding, word recognition, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Instructional strategies and materials are adjusted to help students address skill gaps, improve reading performance, and make measurable progress toward their learning goals.
Mathematics Intervention and Skill Development
This course provides targeted mathematics instruction for students who need additional support with foundational or grade-level skills. Through explicit instruction, guided practice, visual representations, manipulatives, and repeated opportunities to apply concepts, students strengthen number sense, calculation skills, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving. Lessons address individual areas of difficulty and help students build a stronger understanding of mathematical concepts.
Enrichment and Elective Courses
STEAM
Students explore science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics through interactive projects, experiments, building challenges, and creative problem-solving. Activities encourage curiosity, observation, design thinking, collaboration, and critical thinking. Students apply academic concepts to hands-on challenges while developing creativity, persistence, and an understanding of how STEAM connects to everyday life.
Spanish
Students are introduced to Spanish through age-appropriate lessons, interactive games, songs, storytelling, visual materials, and conversational practice. Baking
Students explore baking and basic culinary concepts through supervised, hands-on activities that integrate mathematics, science, literacy, and practical life skills. Students practice measuring ingredients, following sequential directions, identifying changes in materials, observing how ingredients interact, and exploring basic kitchen safety. These activities support mathematical reasoning, reading comprehension, fine-motor development, independence, and real-world application of academic concepts.
Technology
Students develop age-appropriate technology skills through guided activities that promote digital literacy, creativity, problem-solving, and responsible technology use. Depending on grade level and readiness, activities may include keyboarding, basic computer operations, educational software, digital research, introductory coding, and creating simple digital projects. Students learn to use technology as a tool for communication, learning, exploration, and creative expression.
